Hello everyone! Well, this is the last post I will do, because the English classes are over at the university ... I mean, I will not have more blogs or videos…

Well, as usual, when ending always talk about the experience I lived writing this blog and attending English classes…

As I always said, at first I didn`t like the idea of ​​writing about myself in a blog, in something public as a blog. But, over time I realized that it really serves to practice writing and to be able to synthesize my ideas in a space and time that are bounded.

I find that writing blogs is a way to learn more didactics than to be only learning vocabulary in a room with a teacher in front. I think it is a good measure and should continue to be implemented.

Now, with regard to English classes ... Well I started in English 2 and I feel that I have learned in increasing scale ajaja. At that level I didn’t learn much, because it is quite basic ... In English 3 I learned more vocabulary and grammar. In English 4 I feel it is more practical than learning memorizing, so I liked it a lot.

I would say that in college, at least here, does not take much English. Despite having good teachers, the motivation of the students is not very good and the way teachers are distributed, through an external platform to each faculty makes learning a little difficult…

Well, it's rather little English that I take daily ... but I listen to music in English, I watch movies with subtitles and sometimes I try to watch them without subtitles. I think that my link with English is daily but I would like to practice more speaking.

Things that would change the EGGP

Hello everyone! Today I going to talk about a not very entertaining subject but well, I have to do this post. I going to talk about the changes that I would make to the place where I study, which is the EGGP.

Well, what I would change first is the building where I study. It’s very small and uncomfortable, because it has pillars in the middle of the classroom; these are small and very warm in summer.

It also has too many stairs, a single small elevator where they fit 3 people, when the EGGP there are 400 people approx. The playground is very small and you can’t do university life in such a small space as this. We also have little room for study. I would change the library because it’s too small for the number of students who have the EGGP now.

The second thing that would change is the quality of some teachers... Because now the ranking has been eliminated but some teachers aren’t very good…Before the persons who have good ranking took the best teachers, but now as will be practically random, we should worry about this ... because not all teachers measure with the same requirement or not come, etc.

I don’t know what else would change at this time ... Maybe the people who study here... Because with ranking they are very competitive ... I hope that with elimination of the ranking they change a little your way of seeing the life so competitive.

I hope that the change of venue will solve the things I mentioned earlier.

Summer plans

Hello everyone!

Today I going to talk about my summer plans…

Mmm with my boyfriend we are planning to go on holidays to the south, from Concepción to where we reach the money. We believe that we will arrive to Puerto Montt or Puerto Varas. Everyone already has $200.000 we must to have another $350.000.

As we have two weeks before the end of February, from January to that date we had planned to work. In fact, no one of us are very good at working on "summer jobs", that is, those jobs only for January and February, because we both had bad experiences when we worked in 2015. So we thought of selling silk-screened T-shirts, because my boyfriend knows how to make serigraphs and I would sell the shirts. We also planned to sell “cubos” of fruits in parks, like Forestal’s Park. Last year we did it and we win money, but we did not sell it every day, so we did it just for"survive" in the summer jajaja. We have those two options in mind to save money and go to holidays.

My mom also wants to go on vacation but to the north. She is thinking of going on holidays to Iquique, for 4 days. But she does not know if she can, because she has to operate and in the only moment that she can is on holidays, so it is very possible that our trip will change for the winter holidays.

My pets!

Hello everyone! I missed you but I’m back and today I going to talk about my pets!

I have older brothers so I was born with pets. But the first pet I had and I wanted to have was when I was eleven. It was a dog that my father gave me. He was a lovely and small cocker. His name was Conan, because I was a fanatic of Detective Conan. But one day he escaped and I didn’t realized and them we search for him bit we could not find him.

Then, with my family we went to the animal protection society to adopt a new pet. There we found "copito", a small, white and “kiltro” dog.  He was very special to me. We were together from 2009 to 2012. He died poisoned but I'm calm because he had a better life than he could have im the animal protection society. We gave him lots of love and food haha.

In my neighborhood there was a dog that was there always and we adopted them and it is with us until now. His name is “Lucas”. He also brought a friend. I do not know where did he found him but his “friend” stayed out of our house waiting for us to feed him and, well, we adopted him. His name is “Chascon”

Well I also have two cats but that's another story haha. One is called "Federica" ​​and the other "Puntito" They do not get very well between them but well...

Very piulent job

Hello everyone! I’m going to talk about a very piulent job!

Well, in the future, I would like to make a homeless animal’s NGO, because I love animals and I think that they should be protected for the humans. I believe that in Chile exist a lot of violence to animals, for example, exist “rodeo”, the circus where animals, such as lions, monkeys and elephants are mistreated.

I want to defend the rights of animals and have a place where having many abandoned animals and give them up for adoption.

Also, I would like to work in the Ministry of Environment. I really like the issues of recycling, renewable energy, etc. I believe that in Chile there isn’t awareness of the climate change and that there are much friendlier with the environment, ways to produce energy or eliminate our waste.

I would like to make public policies to educate children about these issues. Also I wish there were more recycling points and that Chile think more renewable energy and less on hydroelectric power.

Those are the jobs that I would like to work. I want to work outdoors but I know that if I work in the ministry, I will have to work in an office. I like to travel but for holidays haha. I want to work in Chile.

Hi everyone!

Today I’m going to talk about music! Mmm I’m going talk about my favorite music.

Well, recently I've been listening a lot Sia. I like many of her songs, such as "Move your body", "Cheap Thrills" and "The Greatest". I like Sia long time ago, since her hit was "Clap your hands" in 2010, but was shelved and now I'm start to listen her again.

I also really like electronic music. I like the duo called "Disclosure". Most recently they came to Chile and couldn’t go to see them; because I had no one to go (all my friends are poor hahaha and my boyfriend doesn´t like)

I also like rock music. My favorite band is "Muse". It’s a British rock band. . I like it since when I was young because my older brother also likes.  They came to Chile the last year, on October 15. It was the first time that I saw them and it was amazing. They played their hits like "Time is Running Out", "Hysteria" and "Starlight". It was very exciting to see them live. It was one of the happiest days of my life!

Bread and Roses

Hello everyone!

Today I'm going to talk about the movie "Bread and Roses" 

Top 3 scenes.

The scenes that I liked the most were:

1. When Sam goes to Rosa's house to talk about the cleaners's laboral conditions. He tells to Rosa's family that cleaners in 1982 earned 8.50 per hour, plus health insurance and paid vacation. Now they earns 5.75 per hour and they haven´t right to anything else. I liked this scene because Maya's sister Rosa, became aware of the working conditions and that she had to fight to achieve improvements.

2. When the cleaners protested in a celebration where the owner of the building was in where they work is. I liked it because after that the movement gained strength and was public.

3. When Rosa tells to Maya that she was the one who betrayed his comrades and when Rosa was in Tijuana she need to practice prostitution for send money to her family.  It's a very strong scene that makes Maya see that life is harder than she thought.

      

      Well, I think that social films are very good, because it recounts real events in different societies.         One of my favorite movies is The Help, that belong in the same kind of movies. 

I think the situation of immigrants here in Chile is bad. Although they have more job opportunities here than in their home countries, They don't get the same treate than a Chilean, Also chilean people treat them badly because Chile ,in general, is a racist country, which worsen

life's quality of the immigrants. 

The best concert of my life!

Hello guys!

Today I will talk about the best concert, I'm not sure if it was a concert but it was the best Lollapalooza that I've been! I went to Lollapalooza 2013 in Santiago ahah. The first day I saw a lot of artists but the most important was Pearl Jam, is an American grunge band. It was amazing to see them play two hours followed.  The second day also I saw a lot of artists too, but the most important were Franz Ferdinand, is an indie rock band and The Black Keys, is an American indie blues band. Lollapalooza's atmosphere is great! It was a ten hours of a lot of music!. Even if you don't like the artist who plays in that moment, you enjoy anyways!  As Lollapalooza is in O'higgins park, you don't have to stand all the time, because you can sit on the grass and listen good music!. Also, it was the best "concert" of my life because it was one of the firsts "meeting" with my boyfriend haha.  I would like go again, but is so expensive!.

A country I'd like to visit.

Hi everyone! This semester I will write in this blog! Today I will talk about a country that I like to visit in the future.

A country that I like to visit is Canada. I have always wanted go to Canada because my mother's family lives in there. I don't know speak french, so I want to learn to speak that languague in there. And I went when I was a little child, so I don't remember much ):
 I want to go Niagara fall, Notre-Dame's Basilica, Old Quebec, Ripley's aquarium of Canada and I want to United States for a few days.
I don't know if I want to live in there forever, because it's depends heavily on the experiencie that I will have in there for to decide if I stay in Canada forever. But I think that is a good idea study in there when I speak the languague (:

My experience writing this blog!

Hello everyone! Well, this week I will talk about my experience writing this blog.

At first I didn't like the idea of ​​writing a blog, I thought it was stupid and unnecessary ... But the weeks passed, I realized that writing a blog is entertaining for two things: The first because you can give your opinion about something or say things that if I were in classes with all my classmates watching me I don't say  anything haha I'm very shy (yes, believe it or not) telling personal things, also I can hardly speak English, especially in public. And the second is that greatly improves writing in English, learn new vocabulary and as you´re not pressed, as you are when you render a test, you learn better.

In addition to the above, the issues are not difficult, most are personal things or give your point of view about something, there are not boring topics or ask us for an excessive amount of words.

Also is very good to give space to write in class because you can ask questions to teachers and you feel more together ... It would not be the same if homework.

Well, I think that is a great experience!

The subject that I most enjoyed studying this semester (:

Well, today I will talk a little more about my program.

Today's topic will be the subject that I most enjoyed studying this semester. Well, actually I haven´t a subject that I enjoyed studying, because I have three. The first is called "Legal framework for administrative action" well, the name doesn´t say much but basically it's legislation in public administration, in other words, we study the administrative statute that regulates us. I quite liked the subject because we landed into practice, because there are things we see when we are working. In addition, the teacher is responsible for giving practical examples of the functioning of the administration in this area and I liked it.

Another subject that liked me study was "statistically management". It´s a mathematical subject and was very surprised because I have never liked math and I'm very bad at that. But the statistics I understood the usefulness of mathematics in the administration. The teacher in this case also gave very practical examples of how to use this field when we were already working and I really liked, because we can anticipate things, generate projections, etc.

And finally, enjoy a subject study called "Study of political phenomena". This subject is rather political science and I really enjoyed it because we studied interest groups, social movements, the state, the power relations between these actors, etc. I also liked because it's quite practical, interest groups and social movements can be seen every day on television and it's something important we must take into account.

Well, generally quite we liked those subjects and future generations will mean that much advantage (: 

Hannah Arendt

Hello, how are you guys? I hope you´re fine.

Well, today I will talk a little more about my degree. the topic will be an important character in my field of study.

I chose to talk about a very important woman in the field of political science, she's Hanna Arendt. She was born in 1906 in Germany, and because of her jewish origin, in 1933 she was forced to emigrate by the arrival of the Nazi regime. She arrived to America in 1951 and was given the nationality, because of the great work she did there.

Roughly, Arendt was strongly influenced by her context, like the totalitarianism that existed in Germany. This phenomenon, according to Arendt, would be a product of modernity that brings loneliness and isolation.  As the society had lost interest in the civic and public life, the appearance of total domination regimes was almost inevitable.

What I liked the most about her way of thinking is that through her works she makes a call to the rescue of public life, not in the sense of state action, but in the public sphere where people act in truth and has real cooperation among all.

Besides, I like that a woman positioned in such a male chauvinist environment like political science, also in a period where male chauvinist still looked normal.

Well, I think that Hanna Arendt is influential in my field and I would like everyone to get to know her

One photograph that I like!

Hi everyone!

How are you? I hope you’re fine!

Today I will talk about one photograph that I like so much. It’s a photograph with my older brother. His name is Cristian and he has 29 years old.

This photograph was taken in my holidays, in 2012. In that year, we went to Arica with my whole family. These holidays helped to us a lot to come together as a family.

Well the photograph it was taken by my mom when we went to the Chungará´s lake. We stopped at a lookout, because the altitude made us sick ):  especially to me, I threw up twice. I felt very bad and my brother helped me feel better. When I was better, my mom took this picture.

The place was very beautiful; I saw many “vicunas” and flowers that I didn’t know. Chungará’s lake has a wonderful animals and plants.

In the background, you can see a small town. I didn´t know his name, but is very very small, it’s has only 20 houses, approximately.

I liked that holidays a lot! I hope to go back to Arica with my family and have fun as well!.

Things that I love!

Hello everyone!

I’m here again, I have been very busy these days, but, I’m here!

Well, today I will talk about things I love! They’re simple things but, those make me very happy.

First, I love watch series and movies. My favorite series are: House MD and The walking dead. I really like zombies hahaha. Yesterday, I saw a movie entitled “Colonia” where Emma Watson and Daniel Brühl acts. It´s a very good movie.

Also, I love food, I love junk food, but I eat this kind of food with moderation, because is bad for ours health ): although it’s so delicious!

As well as, I love animals. I have two dogs and two cats (yes, I know I’ve said this many times hahaha). All were homeless and they have slowly become to my house. At first, my family didn’t like much the idea of adopt homeless animals, but eventually started having them love and support me in this.

Well, by last, I love my family! We’re not perfect but we love each other and always support in our foolishness.

So many things I didn’t mention because of time, but in a next post I will talk about this!

Hello everyone!

Well, today I want to tell you about my presentation in english three!

My topic for this presentation is my experience before I choose public administration. Well, before that think in choose this program, I wanted to study cinema and television. I wanted to be the new Stanley Kubrick, but, in the school I had to make a corto with my classmate and was a mess! I didn’t really like the experience and abandoned the idea of study this.

In 2012, I wanted study pedagogy, I don’t really sure if in Spanish or History because I liked both. I thought study both in the Universidad Catolica, but I don’t had so much money ):. I decided study only Spanish in the Universidad Catolica, because in there I can got two mention.  I began graduate in Spanish mention Literature and linguistics. I really like that but, in August, 2014 I changed the school. I went to “Liceo Estación Central”. There, the education was horrible! The kids really don’t learned and the teachers don’t matter this. I didn´t liked was like this teachers and I was scared of this.

Well, the history of like I choose this program I will tell you next week! After my presentation.

Cellphones!

Hello everyone!

Well, today I will tell you about my favorite piece of technology. You can imagine what it is… YES! My cellphone!

Well, I got my first cellphone in 2009, when I have twelve years old. My dad bought it for the Christmas. It was the Nokia 5002, it was amazing, it have games, music and I can take pictures with him!.

Well, I was very happy with Nokia’s cellphone until meet Apple! I bought my first Iphone in 2013. With this, something changes in my life. Now, I was more connect with the world and I knew a lot of things! Like facebook, whatsapp and tumblr.  I meet new people and I really like that. But, in 2015, I bored of my cellphone and facebook, whatsapp, etc, all social network and decided change my relationship with the cellphones. Now, I have Iphone 5C and I use it for the primordial, like call, texting or take pictures of the important moments. I think that the technology objects are necessary but not the more important in our lives!

Why I chose study public administration

When I have ten o eleven years old, I wanted to be a teacher of History o Spanish, because always loved help people and liked History and Spanish. I considered study this program because I think is the best way to help directly to people.

Latter, I wanted to be a writer, but I thought that and considered  this more like a hobbie than a real option for study in the future.

When I have seventeen year old, I decided to study Public Administration, because I like help people and this program need people committed with the public service.

My experience in this program has been very good. I really like the program and my teachers are so good!. In addiction, my classmates are likeable. 

I'm not sure what king of job i want to work in the future, but i want to create a foundation to help homeless animals. Also, I would like work in the Ministry of Environment, because always like the issue of recycling, renobables energies, etc.

My life in a blog part two.

Hi everyone!
I'm Carla Núñez Orrego, I have 19 year old. I was born in December 26, 1996 in Santiago. I always lived in this city. My secundary school was Carmela Carvajal de Prat, then this, I go to the university last year.
I have a mom, a father and two siblings. My mom's name is Claudia and my father's name is Luis. My oldest brother's name Cristian and the second one called Claudio. Also, I have two dogs and two cats, everyone come to the street and I love them a lot!

Well, I don't have many hobbies, but I like a lot watch movies and series. My mom says "You spend a lot of time in watch movies and you don't study!" but I study more that she think.

In the future, I want have a homeless animal's foundation and help them.

Hello! I'm Carla Núñez Orrego and I'm 19 years old. I'm actualy studying Public Administration in the Universidad de Chile. I have two dogs, his names are Lucas and Chascón, and two cats, I love them a lot!. Also, I have a boyfriend, his name is Roberto Baeza and he study Arts in the Universidad de Chile too. I really like whatch all kind of movies in the internet. Also. I like ride on my bicycle and go to a places o parks wich never know before.
I live in Quinta Normal and I like where a live, because is very quiet and live almost all my family in there.
I like eat junk food, but I a diet , so now I eat only frust, like apples and bananas and cereals. Is very sad because my boyfriend is very slim and his eat a lot of food but he doesn´t gain weigth.
I love my mother and my brothers. I have two brother. Also I have cousin, his name is Bastian and he's 1 year old. Recently he learn to walk alone and talk a few words like "Mamá" and "Abu" for grandma.
I don't change my life for anything.
